The place where every villa has a sunset view, honestly it doesn’t get much better.
 Mum and I had a night with our feet in the sand, watching the sun dip into the sea, and it’s become one of my favourite memories (and hers too).
 There’s plenty on offer here; beach villas that open straight onto the sand, all inclusive dining, warm sunshine and one evening a short burst of tropical rain came through while I was in the exposed bath. I just lay there listening to the birds and it was magical.
 A visit to the spa made me unwind even more and by the time I left I felt completely reset.

If you’re planning a trip, the best time to visit the Maldives is between November and April for clear skies and calm seas, though even in the tropical months it still feels like paradise.

Save this for a future trip to Dubai 🇦🇪✨

Luke and I recently had another break in Dubai, staying in one of our favourite areas on West Beach. We’ve done so many of the main spots before, so this time was more about slowing down, good food and a bit of sunshine and October was the perfect time to visit, the weather felt just right.

Here are a few favourites to add to your list ⬇️

🍝 Carbone, Atlantis The Royal – the newest Italian restaurant at the resort, full of energy and atmosphere. I’d recommend the carpaccio and their famous spicy rigatoni vodka pasta.
☀️ Raffles The Palm – the dream beach day; calm water, soft sand and total relaxation.
🌸 Thiptara, Palace Downtown – authentic Thai dishes with one of the best views of the Dubai Fountain.
🐠 The Lost Chambers Aquarium, Atlantis The Palm – interactive and immersive, with mermaids, tunnels and incredible sea life. If you look closely you may even spot the amazing @dxb_hun ❤️
🌅 Sunset boat trip – golden light, good music and even better company.
🏨 Tumbi, West Beach – a boutique hotel in a brilliant location, steps from the beach and great restaurants. (Please note there is construction work at the front of the hotel currently)

They say fairies live here and it’s even linked to the legend of Merlin.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but after a short walk through the woods I found a gorge that feels like something out of a story. Mossy rocks, the sound of the river and an ancient stillness.

You don’t have to believe the legends to feel the magic here. It’s one of those places that just stays with you.

📍 Parking: Fairy Glen Car Park (A470, near Betws-y-Coed, Conwy). Small honesty box fee, cash only.
🥾 Walk Length: About 10 to 15 minutes each way, short but steep in parts.
🌿 Trail Info: Woodland path with steps leading down to the gorge. Wear good shoes if it’s wet. If the path down is too wet I would advise not to go down.
💦 Highlights: Mossy rocks, river views and that peaceful, otherworldly feeling.

It was my first time visiting Dublin and I completely fell for it. The colours, the atmosphere, the charm of its old streets, it’s one of those cities that instantly makes you feel welcome.

After I got back, I watched the new House of Guinness series on Netflix and it made me appreciate the experience at the Storehouse even more.

One of my favourite moments was sitting out on the terrace of my hotel room, overlooking Dublin Castle with a cup of tea in hand, and yes, there was a hot tub out there too, perfect for relaxing after long sightseeing days.

And the pub food? I’m still thinking about the sausage and mash from Doheny & Nesbitt. It was comfort on a plate.

If you’ve ever connected through here on your way somewhere else, it’s worth making it a stopover next time. You can get some brilliant hotel deals through their stopover programme, so it’s perfect for a short break before heading on.

It’s only around six hours from the UK, with beaches, museums and architecture that feels like it’s from the future. The food scene is incredible, the city’s spotless and there’s a calmness you don’t always get in bigger places.
