Over the years I’ve had the pleasure of exploring different parts of North Wales, and it’s a place I always want to go back to. One minute you’re chasing epic waterfalls, the next you’re on the coast breathing in sea air, then suddenly you’re up in the mountains wondering how this is all the same corner of the UK.

Formula 1… and beaches? 🏁🌴 ᵃᵈ

Only 6.5 hours from the UK ✈️

Be honest… would you ever plan a trip around an F1 race? Because I genuinely wouldn’t have. We were already there and it just happened to be on and I finally understood why people get obsessed.

It’s not just watching cars go round a track. Seeing it live, you understand how much is happening. The pit stops are over in seconds, the strategy is changing constantly and at night under the lights it’s a proper event. Rooftop views with a drink, music, the energy from the crowd, then fireworks and celebrations at the end.

And it’s a very iconic place to watch too, as Bahrain was the first place in the Middle East to host Formula One.

There are also some amazing hotels depending on how you want your trip to feel, from a more city based stay to a proper beach escape, plus some brilliant restaurants.

One of the winter walks in the UK I really enjoyed 🌊

📍 Location at the end 📍

We were introduced to this walk by my parents in law while we were exploring Anglesey and seeing it at a quieter time of year made it feel even more special. Crisp air on your face, wide open space and that slower pace you only really get outside of peak season.

You’re walking along huge stretches of sand with views across to Snowdonia (Eryri) including Yr Wyddfa. Just offshore is a tidal island you can reach at low tide with historic ruins linked to Saint Dwynwen the Welsh patron saint of lovers.

It’s also known for where Newborough Forest meets the sea and for the wildlife here from wild ponies grazing the dunes to red squirrels hidden away in the trees.

Definitely one to save if you’re planning a slower off season escape.

🏛️ Beamish Museum, County Durham
A living museum where you wander old streets, pop into shops, and feel like you’ve stepped into another time.

🎡 Black Country Living Museum, Dudley (West Midlands)
Canals, historic buildings, vintage fairground vibes, and so many little details that make the day fly by.

🍰 Spinnaker Tower high tea, Portsmouth (Hampshire)
Afternoon tea with unreal harbour views.

🔥 Kynren, Bishop Auckland (County Durham)
A huge outdoor live show that feels cinematic from start to finish. An epic tale of England.

🍝 Bunga Bunga, Covent Garden (London)
Get transported back to the 90s with themed cocktails, huge pizzas, toilet raves, and arcade games. Brilliant for birthdays, date nights, or a girls’ weekend.
